networked immersive telepresence

Bibliolab is a full-room networked immersive telepresence cave created by the Living Lab at the Montreal Society for Arts and Technology [SAT]. It’s purpose is to help Montreal libraries reassert and reinvent their rôle as a social hub for the 21st century.

Multiple libraries across Montreal are being equipped with the Bibliolab immersive telepresence system giving people access to distributed experiences, learning opportunities and a rich context for citizen engagement around social issues.

In every neighbourhood across the province, libraries are at the heart of communities and are pillars of society - hubs where citizens gather to learn, share and act together.

This system integrates the well-established expertise of the [SAT] in the fields of telepresence, immersion and distributed interactive performance technologies.
